Patient Testimonial
Candy Snyder
I am the daughter of Katherine Watkin, and I write this letter on behalf of both of us. My mom was a patient at your facility from Nov. 2 until Dec. 9, 2011 as a result of a stroke that left the left side of her body paralyzed. I would like to take an opportunity to commend your staff and recognize them for a great job.
They worked very hard with my mom and she made progress at your facility. There were several therapists that worked with mom and encouraged her along the way. She seemed to have a real connection with the therapists which helped with her recovery. Jenny, physical therapist; Jim occupational therapist; and Jeana, speech therapist, were the ones that I know worked with her the most.
I would also like to commend the nursing staff. All of the nurses and aids she knew by name. They not only met the medical needs of mom, but also supported her while she was there. Also, know that all the staff that were on the wing that mom was in should be applauded for their work. She seemed to know all of them by name and all interacted with her, from the people who served her meals to the janitorial staff. From the initial consultation with Leslie, to the day that mom was discharged, she had no complaints about her care at HealthSouth.
Mom was only 59 years old when she had a stroke that was traumatizing to her and the family. I visited mom on a regular basis and watched her regain movement and strength. When I think about the day she had the stroke, I did not think the progress she made would be possible. Please know that I have mentioned your facility to many people that I have had contact with throughout this ordeal, and I would strongly recommend HealthSouth to anyone who needs rehabilitation.
